Acura MDX SUV Review

When you need a top notch SUV to carry up to seven passengers on a regular basis then you could do worse than consider the 2012 Acura MDX SUV. Next years models are pretty much the same as last years. They are 7 seater MPVs with a five thousand pound towing rate and Acura's "Super Handling All-Wheel Drive". This makes it like a comfortable favorite jacket of a drive. It stacks up well against the BMW X5, the Lexus RX 350 and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class against which it is competing for consumer SUV dollars. Current owners sing the praises of the Acura MDX SUV reliability which is a long-standing feature. They all love the distinctive rounded blocky appeal of the design too. Responsive controls make the Acura MDX SUV a smooth performer. It is a relatively light weight vehicle for a big 7 person carrier and this contributes to its very acceptable fuel thirstiness. From the drivers perspective the fascia and interiors are casually rich in detail and fine finish. The seating is great and fully personalized for the driver and front passenger, with 8 electronic positional adjustors and 2 memory settings.
The Acura MDX SUV like all Acuras is a driver focused vehicle. The Acura MDX SUVs 300hp V6 VTEC petrol engine and super constant four wheel drive is satisfactorily smooth under average load and urban - suburban roads, but it is a little underpowered for more off road terrains. The six speed automatic gearbox complements the engine well. Overtaking in congested highway traffic can be a little labored, while petrol consumption at 21 mpg is eye watering in these days of austerity. At 78.5 inches across the top the mid range Acura MDX SUV rests on a broad wheel base. This gives it the look of an athlete in the blocks, ready to sprint away character. The MDX has a 300-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fitted as standard engineering is Acura's "Super-Handling" All-Wheel-Drive system. As well as improving road grip in adverse weather, this has the facility to transfer all of its power to one wheel according to conditions and need. Cleverly, it gives the outer wheels more speed in a turn to enable the MDX even more handling ability. For every MDX model other included features are leather seating, sun roof, powered tailgate, in out up down steering wheel positions, satellite radio, a rear parking camera view and Bluetooth mobile connectivity.
The Acura MDX SUV has a 'marmite' nose. You either love it or hate it. . Ranging in price from $55,340 to $56.600 next years models will cement the reputation for the niche Acura MDX SUV. Now might be the better time to buy being the year before an important new launch for two reasons. Most importantly the new upgraded model may not be to your liking.
Secondly, an "all-new" model will almost certainly be more expensive than the one it is replacing. These are two good pros to make you not to wait for the 2013 MDX. But the most important reason is the 2012 MDX itself.

I have been a fan of Acura and especially the MDX since early 2000's. However; the fit, trim and quality of my 2010 MDX is very poor. I have this vehicle for less than a year and am actively searching for a replacement.
MDX 2011 handles great in the snow. Replaced a Ford explorer 4wd and the Acura handles every bit as good. Happy with it.
