When one thinks of Bentley SUVs, they picture refined elegance with top-of-the-line features. Even if they are not familiar with any of the sport utility vehicles in the lineup for 2013, and are unaware of what any look like, they just know they will be special. Bentley defines luxury; which is why it is often associated with celebrities and wealthy professionals. These are vehicles that nearly anyone would love to have, but few will even be able to afford.
Bentley Motors was founded in 1919 with the goal to build a vehicle that was best in its class. A goal that has been proven in the quality and design of their cars and sport utility vehicles.
Although there are no Bentley SUVs for 2013 to speak of, the brand has confirmed that their long awaited EXP 9F will be launched in 2015. This concept vehicle started out as a dream project and has grown into a reality. The features that Bentley has thought to include are pretty remarkable, most of which you will never see on another vehicle on the market. This is an SUV that will capture the attention of every driver on the road and inspire dreams.
Starting price for the EXP 9F will be somewhere around $140,000. It will really have no competition other than the Porsche Cayenne, which does not even come close to being in the same price range.
The EXP 9F will be powered by a W12 engine that will deliver an unbelievable 600 horsepower. Most won’t even know what to do with that kind of power. Too bad you can’t bottle it up and sell it to four-cylinder SUV owners; the Bentley would more than pay for itself then. For European markets, a 6.0-liter V12 TDI engine will also be available, still producing a solid 500 horsepower.
Think of a big SUV you are familiar with and supersize it; that’s how big the EXP 9F will be. Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer says that potential customers are requesting a third row seat option, but of course, Bentley would need to make sure that it is more than roomy enough for adults to sit back there and get comfortable on a road trip, while also ensuring cargo space is adequate for luggage.
As for style, the EXP 9F will be one that either makes your heart flutter, or you will hate it. However, even those who think it is ugly will still secretly worship it; it is a Bentley after all! This is not a vehicle that will sneak by quietly on the road; you will see this one coming a mile away no matter what direction it is coming from.
Blinged out beyond belief, the exterior is bold and dramatic, with a beefy body, iconic matrix grille and surprisingly small round headlamps. In the back, twin exhaust tailpipes and a two-part split tailgate leave a lasting impression.
So, will the EXP 9F be called the EXP 9F? Well, potential buyers hope not! Rumor has it that Falcon is in the running. Only time will tell if Bentley Falcon will be the new name.
