Ford SUV

The Ford SUV is a statement of longevity in the sport utility vehicle industry. The Bronco, which was discontinued in the 1990s, was replaced by the Expedition. Ford has made SUVs longer than most companies and has consistently turned out the hard working powerhouses that are what big SUV owners are looking for. The Excursion, the Bronco, the Escape, and Expo are the four most recognized of the Ford SUV family.
The Ford SUV family was hit hard in the mid 1990s when Bronco became the most likely vehicle to roll over during normal driving conditions. In order to address public concerns the designers went about the task of creating a new model that would deliver the same standard of SUV power and towing capacity while improving on the overall safety design. Even today you will still find faithful Bronco owners on the road with their vehicles, the Expedition came along to help improve the safety record of the Ford SUV.
It worked. The Expedition is a world recognized sport utility vehicle and one of the core group of long standing designs that has developed increased popularity over the years. Recent changes to the Expo have brought about a new standard for the full sized SUV. With a towing capacity of 9100 pounds, this particular Ford SUV carries a high work expectation and is one of the more powerful of the core group. While the Escape and the Excursion were lighter duty vehicles, the Bronco and the Expo are truck like in their basic fashion and style. They were intentionally designed to resemble the F150 and deliver vast amounts of cargo space.
Just like other members of the Ford SUV family the Expo was given a makeover every few years. With luxury issues becoming more important to the consumer, you won't find that the working trucks are being left out of the race. While perhaps not as refined and elegant as Lexus or Cadillac the Ford SUV still brings some attention to detail to make it a family vehicle. Tri zone climate control, adaptive pneumatic suspension, premium audio system with subwoofer and MP3 player input, automatic fold and stow side mirrors, voice activated navigation, and an LCD screen entertainment system bring the Ford vehicles into the 21st century.
The Ford SUV offers six speed automatic transmission and is still one of the most popular choices for manual shift vehicles (when you can find them) as the improvements made to the powertrain and the transmission are noticeable. Of course, Ford didn't stop there. The rollover safety resistance score finally hit more than 2 stars with the latest run of tests. With 3 out of 5 stars for rear wheel drive rollover resistance and 4 out of 5 stars for 4 wheel drive models the Ford family has brought up its safety rating significantly.
The Ford SUV line has come a long way since the Bronco. However, if there was never sound quality and good value to begin with, the long standing run of SUVs from the Ford company wouldn't be such an obvious iconic staple of our society today.
