Ford Expedition SUV Review

As the largest of the SUVs in the line up, the 2012 Ford Expedition SUV offers a premium interior with high quality, soft touch materials and handsome trim where it's appropriate, which gives a high class appearance. The Ford Expedition SUV currently comes in two lengths, including the Extended Length, but the wavering sales may see 2012 as the last of the long versions.

While the exterior design is the same, the 2012 Ford Expedition SUV has been through what many called a "moderate makeover." The interior seating now comes in a range of colors, leather is now an option in two colors and types, and the electronic devices have been upgraded for improved performance.

The Ford Expedition SUV is a workhorse of a vehicle that still gets the family around in class and style. Two middle row captain's chairs give it seating for seven. The second row can be reconfigured into bench seating upon ordering, providing seating for eight. All seating is designed to offer real life people real world comfort. This includes shoulder and leg room. The lack of such space is a common problem among SUVs as the race to fit the most passengers has been going on for more than a decade. The Ford Expedition SUV achieves the goal of offering real comfort.

Three different seating configurations give the Ford Expedition SUV three different cargo area measurements. With the three seating rows intact the cargo area measures 18.6 cubic feet. The simple slide and glide maneuverability for folding the third row of seats makes it very simple to open up the cargo area to 55 cubic feet. The same easy slide and glide one handed folding design as the third row opens up the cargo measurements to a final 108.3 cubic feet.

The 2012 Ford Expedition SUV offers the rear wheel drive model as its standard base. There is an optional four wheel drive model available as well. The 360 horsepower V6 engine is a blast at 365 pounds of torque. As a standard engine, it offers the power and the pull to get the family through all kinds of bad weather. The AdvanceTrack stability control aids in getting the most power from the engine while maintaining great control and avoiding hazardous fish tails.

Electronic upgrades include Ford's new Sync technology installed in every vehicle as an option or as standard equipment. Sync is the hands free way to activate voice control over all the electronic devices. The Ford MyTouch offers user interface to create a one touch system that can control each device, or all of them when you need sudden quiet.

The Ford Expedition SUV represents a good value for the family and for those who need a sturdy vehicle for hauling and towing. Restyling the interior has given it a more finished, refined look and the body construction has been tampered with. The subtle changes to the body make the Expedition stand out in a crowd. With 14 miles per gallon during city driving and 20 miles to the gallon on the highway, it is an investment for handling whatever dirt you may be hauling anything your heart desires for years to come.
