It's standard 5.4L V8, 310-horsepower is designed to sensibly apply the torque whenever it's required, and delivers nearly 85 percent of extensive peak torque around just 1,500 rpm. The Ford Expedition SUV 2012 is a spacious four door truck that accommodates up to eight adults except for the regular length base XL, which can only facilitate 5. When it comes to trims of the 2012 Ford Expedition, the choices are simply overwhelming with 2 body lengths, the regular and the EL (15" longer than the regular) that are further divided into 4 trims each; the entry level XL, XLT, Limited and King Ranch version. The regular XL comes standard with 17" alloy wheels (18" on the EL), roof rack, cruise control, tilt only steering wheel wrapped in leather, automatic headlights, running boards, mirrors that are heated with blind spot mirrors, air-conditioning with rear controls, cloth upholstery, foglamps, manual reclining 6 way power driver's seat, auto dimming rearview mirror, rear audio controls with an auxiliary audio jack, CD player with a 6 speaker sound system and a 40/20/40-split second-row seat that slides and reclines. Moving up a notch to the XLT equips the 2012 expedition with rear parking sensors, 18" alloy wheels, trip computer, adjustable pedals that are powered, steering wheel mounted controls, voice operated Sync system, upgraded sound system and Bluetooth connectivity. A sports appearance package remains an option for all XLT versions that appoints the Expedition with black running boards, a body colored grille and a black interior trim.

The limited 2012 Ford Expedition stacks on a robust tow package, power folding mirrors, leather upholstery, power liftgate, subwoofer complete with a premium sound system, dual zone climate control, auto dimming mirror for the driver's side, front parking sensors, rearview camera, 8 way heated front seats, folding third row seat that is powered, memory functionality for the driver and a home-style electrical outlet. The king ranch sports edition adds most of the above plus upgraded leather, headlamps and trim, 20" alloy wheels and two tome paint. Most of the perks standard to the upper level trip can be availed as options on the less expensive versions. Some of the other notable optional add-ons are headrest mounted screens with the rear entertainment system, rear load leveling air suspension that works great for towing and a sunroof. The cabins of the 2012 Expeditions are definitely appealing, but some of the controls in the dash may seem out of date, compared to those in Ford's very own F-150. Bottom line the 2012 Expedition handles well, without a full load of people or cargo.
