GMC Acadia SUV Review
SUV Reviewer
The 2011 GMC Acadia has been taken from humble beginnings to a new level of consumer value. As a crossover SUV it offers great cargo space, better fuel efficiency than many of the leaders in its class, and room for 8 adults in a comfortable interior. While the full size SUV has fallen out of favor with the environmentally conscious and the thrifty at the pump families, the crossover offers a range of potential perks that could very well help the vehicle manufacturers and the public to come to an agreement on style and practicality.
The 2011 GMC Acadia is smooth and provides a nice, compliant ride. With excellent safety ratings and 8 passenger seating, this is one of the more user friendly crossovers that can be found on the market today. If you need to haul quite a bit of material you'll find the Acadia is certainly an advantageous choice.
The 2011 GMC Acadia comes standard with 7 passenger to 8 passenger seating on its five models. 18 inch alloy wheels, dual zone air conditioning, power accessories, and OnStar subscription for 6 months with purchase provide the consumer with the basic necessities in order to remain competitive in the market.
Regardless of which model of the 2011 GMC Acadia you settle on you will receive the same engine. The 3.6 liter V-6 offers an automatic six speed with a manual shifter. At 288 horsepower and 270 pounds of torque, it is possible for the Acadia to tow about 5200 pounds behind it.
On the city streets the 2011 GMC Acadia will provide about 17 miles per gallon. On the open highway you'll see closer to 24 miles per gallon. The all wheel drive version drops to 16 city miles and 19 highway miles per gallon.
As one of the few 2011 vehicles to take the new and improved 2011 crash rating safety test the 2011 GMC Acadia performed well and earned a five star rating. Most of the crossovers have been rated on the older, more relaxed 2010 crash test rating.
The overall visual appeal of the vehicle is highly rated and the two toned interior provides a nice visual experience for those riding with you. While some of the plastic used for knobs and controls could have been made from a higher quality original material, the overall look and performance on the Acadia seems to be among one of the higher ranked among consumers.
The cargo space of the 2011 GMC Acadia provides a maximum of 117 cubic feet for hauling cargo. This figure is measured without the second or third row seats. If you keep all of the seating rows in place the cargo capacity drops to about 24 cubic feet, which is still quite user friendly for most needs of today.
With good and responsive acceleration don't think that that you'll hop into the 2011 GMC Acadia and ask it to respond like a car. It is still a larger, heavier machine that weighs nearly 5000 pounds when you add on the all wheel drive option. With reasonable performance, special features for comfort, performance, and entertainment you can create the brand new crossover of your dreams with some mix and match options.

Have had an Acadia since 2007, and its been a fine car. 70,000 miles with little to no problems. original tires ,brakes, batt. We had a small electrical prob but it was under warrenty. Overall great car.
2012 Acadia SUV with stylish design, increased cargo space and impressive comfort is gonna it high sales. The car also has reported discomforts due to large size and interior imperfections. Looking to see one on roads.
Most Uncomfortable seats of ANY vehicle I have ever owned. They are HARD, and very cheaply built. This is a nice vehicle with a HIGH PRICE to have had corners cut so hard when they made the seats. If you buy this vehicle you will deeply regret it, we do! Spent $42,000 on a hard seat that feels worse than sitting on a rock. SO UNCOMFORTABLE. The dealership laughed when I complained about the seats, they even said the Acadia looks great however it is a crappy driving experience,.. of course they said this AFTER they sold me the car. Waste of money, don't do it, buy something else. I will never buy an American car ever again. Going back to Honda!
