GMC Envoy SUV Review

When shopping for a GMC Envoy the average consumer will find that the performance factor is good and the spacious cabin offers plenty of room. The handling is not as spry as some of the competitors, but the comfortable ride creates a nice passenger experience. There are lots of features that helped to put the GMC Envoy on the map. Bluetooth connectivity and yet the same hard working vehicle that was created by the SUV is still well intact. If you need a working truck with the convenience of passenger seating, this may be the SUV for you.

The GMC Envoy was originally a dressed up version of the TrailBlazer. Towing capacity, low range gear systems, and traditional in its power-horse SUV body this particular model has its fans and its critics. The navigation system, entertainment options, and the stability control were all factors in its creation as a family vehicle as well.

The 3 basic models have their own perks and options, including their own engine sizes. SLE and SLT models offer a 4.2 liter engine with 291 horsepower and a good 277 pounds of torque. Upgrading provides a 5.3 liter engine with traditional V-8 power, 302 horsepower, and 330 pounds of torque. Despite the 4 speed transmission, the power transfer is excellent and the range of speed is still appropriate. Gear changing is delivered with precision.

Two and four wheel drive models provide a range of possibilities for the GMC Envoy. Depending on the model and the engine you can haul anywhere from 5800 pounds to 6600 pounds behind the vehicle. Fuel efficiency is not the best for the Envoy. The two wheel drive models tend to get about 14 city miles per gallon and 20 highway miles per gallon.

The GMC Envoy offers load leveling suspension to help create a smoother ride. The heated seats and the power adjustable pedals are just two of the features that make this one of the creative options for SUV enthusiasts. The Bose sound system provides audio controls mounted directly to the steering wheel to allow for the convenient and safe control while driving. Some models offer a roof rack, overhead console, heated side mirrors that offer automated folding, and an autodimming rearview mirror.

There is not a third row seating option, which limits the potential for versatility when it comes to the GMC Envoy. Even so, the 80 cubic feet of cargo space help to make up for the limited seating when you're using it to haul from one place to another. The 60/40 split of the rear passenger seating provides variable options for cargo and passenger options.

Overall, the GMC Envoy has a lot to offer the consumer who wants the power of strong SUV while providing many of the creature comforts that can make a family trip a better experience. While the handling and performance factors are not as great as some of the competitors, the basic drive and haul function is usually what attracts consumers to this vehicle.
