The 2012 Honda Odyssey SUV Van is offered in five available trims - LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and Touring Elite models that are all equipped with 3.5 Li V6 SOHC engine with efficient output power of 248 horsepower; an impressive rating for an 8-seater van. The base trim is available in 5 speed transmission while other elite models are offered in 6 speed automatic transmissions. The engine power makes it possible to drive the 2012 Honda Odyssey SUV with ease. Since Honda lives to continue producing fuel efficient car models, the Honda Odyssey SUV offers an impressive EPA rating of 18 mpg for city driving and 27 mpg for highway rating. Other models, like the Elite Touring Odyssey SUV offers a higher EPA rating of 19 mpg for city driving and 29 mpg for highway driving.

When it comes to safety, there is no doubt that Honda Odyssey SUV is the perfect choice for a family van. Actually, all models of Odyssey SUV were rated with the highest safety ratings ever given to SUV vans by NHTSA or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and IIHS or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Without spending too much, the Honda Odyssey offers comprehensive safety features even for the base trim.

The cabin space can seat seven passengers comfortable with spacious compartment to fit any excess baggage. The seats were designed so passengers can adjust the seats individually in front or side direction for a more comfortable seating. The dash board has a signal indicator to warn the driver when the tires have inadequate air. Though the base trim offers spacious interior, upgrading to Touring Elite model offers better space for passenger seating and cargo space. Also, the Odyssey Touring Elite offers 80inch TFT screen, a USB interface, and more choices for the exterior color, navigation system and improved audio system.

Another unique feature of the elite model is the HID headlamps, 18" alloy wheel and the power tailgate. Though the strong performance of Honda Odyssey SUV Van proves to consumer that this is the best valued family car choice, there are some flaws seen. First is the audio system that has distorted output for the basic package. Also, upgrading to a more top of the line model is very expensive, as much as double of the original price for the base trim yet the improved features are not that far from the basic.
