The Veracruz was not on my car shopping list, but after reading some positive reviews, I thought I would check it out. I was expecting a sluggish, awkward vehicle, but I got one with lively acceleration, smooth shifting and impressive composure on paved roads. On the downside, fuel-economy is not as good as I had hoped for, and steering can feel a little inert, but Veracruz was a lot cheaper than others I was looking at, so I can't complain.
