There will be a slight increase in the prices of the updated Honda Civic Type R and Hatchback. The two variants will go on sale on November 3 and the Type R will have a starting price of $36,595, an increase of $1,000 from last year.

Like the Civic Si that was introduced earlier, the Type R and the Hatchback will have an updated infotainment system that has physical buttons and a volume knob that replaces the haptic controls on the previous model. Standard to the EX trims and higher are the Apple CarPlay and the Android Auto. The Japanese automaker made the cabin more comfortable, too, with larger cupholders, revised controls for the steering wheel, and an indicator light on the electric parking brake that signals when engaged.

Aside from the interior updates, the Type R will also have a new Sonic Gray Pearl color option. The hot hatch, on the other hand, will only have one trim level with one engine—a 2.0-liter turbo-four that produces 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

The hatchback is priced starting at $22,345, an increase from last model’s $21,045. The Honda Sensing tech will come with a hefty price tag. It includes collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, road departure mitigation, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.

There will no longer be a base hatchback with a manual transmission. The six-speed manual transmission has been upgraded to the Sport with a starting price of $23,145, up from last year’s $22,645 when paired with the manual. The CVT-equipped Sport models will be sold for $23,945, up by a mere $500 from last model’s price tag.

The EX models will start at $24,645. The EX Navi is priced at $27,145 while the top-of-the-line Sport Touring remains unchanged at $29,645. All Hatchback models will continue to have a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine that cranks out 180 horses on the Sport and Sport Touring and 174 horsepower on the other trims.
