2020 Land Rover Defender Reveals Image In New Images Leaked

An Instagram post of the new 2020 Land Rover Defender showed the 4×4 ahead of the planned release next year. The leaked image showed the Defender without camouflage.

The photo clearly showed almost three-quarters of the car’s front, except for the missing bonnet. The flared wheel arches and LED headlamps are squared off while the upright windscreen and flat roof were clearly based on the original Defender.

Based on the previously released test mules, this new Defender will get influences from the old model. That means owners will get to enjoy the Defender’s trademark tailgate-mounted spare wheel, vertical rear tail lights, and slab-sides flanks.

These past images showed the Defender’s interior will be a notch higher in terms of technology. There are a large central screen and a digital instrument binnacle; the same system fitted to the latest Land Rover Discovery. The Defender will retain the same chunky heater controls and traditional rotary volume knob.

And as another set of teaser photos showed wherein a fleet of Defender mules were being used by Tusk, a Kenyan wildlife conservation charity organization, it looks like this model will be able to carry heavy loads, track radio-collared lions, and carry supplies across the 14,000-hectare Borana Conservancy.

The test was designed to examine the 4×4’s real-world performance.

The Land Rover Defender will be released in the UK in 2020. By that time, it would have finished more than 45,000 individual tests. It’s been tested on all surfaces—the backwaters of Eastnor in the UK, the trails of Death Valley in California, and the sand dunes of Dubai.

It has also been subjected to -40 degrees Celsius weather and as high as 48 degrees Celsius. The Defender mules have also been tested with the maximum altitudes of 13,000 feet and have crossed 1.2 million kilometers of the road across 11 countries.
