From humble beginnings in 1899 Buick quickly rose to become the world's biggest car manufacturer in 1908 with its vehicle production output more than GM and Ford combined! The engineers behind Buick were credited with the development of the overhead valve engine (now in use throughout the world in virtually all engines). Eventually Buick was to become the financial cornerstone of the world's largest car producer, General Motors. Today Buick is one of many companies operating under the GM banner but continues to produce vehicles with that unique Buick flavour. In terms of the SUV marketplace, Buick has just the one offering - The Enclave crossover. The Enclave is available in FWD or AWD configuration, in both cases using an advanced 3.6 V6 engine to produce around 288HP. Like most Buick's this SUV is loaded with luxurious equipment and comes with OnStar as standard. Refinement in the Enclave is magnificent, Buick use "QuietTuning" which is a method of eliminating outside road, wind and engine noise using triple door seals, noise absorbing materials and special laminated glass on windshield and front windows. Using this new design and technology Buick claim the Enclave SUV is quieter than a Lexus RX350!
