The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid 2WD was later reaching the marketplace than everyone expected, apparently Cadillac needed to make some last minute tweaks. This hybrid version of the iconic Esplanade is said to improve fuel consumption in the City by over 25% - this is considerably more than many other hybrid SUVs or crossovers. The Cadillac uses a two-mode hybrid transmission which can run on either electricity or gasoline (or both). Of course, some may argue that the same improvements in fuel economy could have been made by making the Esplanade more compact and fitting a smaller engine. However, if they did that it wouldn't be an Esplanade would it? There is something magnificent about this truck, you still have that crushing power from a 332 HP V8 but can fall back on the hybrid motor when stuck in traffic jams greatly reducing pollution. The hybrid is not a stripped out model either, it has all the same top dollar finishes and fittings inside so you and your family or colleagues can waft around in complete luxury with features such as a voice-activated navigation unit, rear seat DVD entertainment system, Bluetooth technology, rear-view backup camera, advanced sound system powered by Bose, remote start system and tri-zone automatic climate control that will accommodate all eight passengers in the Escalade.
