Chevrolet (or Chevy) is the top selling brand of the GM stable. In its heyday Chevrolet produced some iconic cars such as the Impala and the Corvair and at one time 10% of all cars sold in America were made by Chevrolet. Not normally a company known for "green" issues, Chevrolet, like many other companies, seem to be changing direction recently with fuel economy being the main advertising message on the company website - "Chevy offers eight models with an EPA estimated 30 MPG highway or better" is their claim to fame. Bio-fuel and Hybrid cars are already in production with electric cars (the Chevy Volt) due in 2010 and fuel cell cars (hydrogen-powered Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles) are already undergoing large scale tests in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Southern California. Chevrolet has an extensive range of SUV vehicles on offer in the USA, consisting of the Avalanche, Equinox, HHR, Suburban, Tahoe, Trailblazer and Traverse. The largest SUV is the Suburban which completely dwarfs the HHR crossover vehicle at the other end of the range. In terms of SUV's, the extended range offered by Chevrolet means that there should be a model to suit all families or lifestyles.
