Dodge Journey

Review

The Dodge Journey SE position in the SUV market place is essentially a crossover that offers all the convenience of a minivan - for those customers who don't want to be seen driving a minivan! A recent arrival into the bustling compact/mid size crossover/SUV scene, the Dodge Journey offers ample space for up to seven adults in a fairly compact package. In fact the amount of interior space is amazing - someone has obviously put a lot of thought into the design of the interior and all the clever stowage options. This is a great vehicle for families and for their associated paraphernalia. The base model (SE) comes in at just under $20K (2009) but this spec has to make do with a weedy four cylinder engine matched to a fairly old fashioned 4 speed auto box. The other models in the range have a much more powerful V6 and 6 speed auto. So, if you are looking for sporty performance the Dodge Journey SE is probably not the car for you. However, if you are looking for as much space as possible in a mid-sized vehicle with space for up to 7 occupants - this is a good budget choice for you. At under $20k nothing else can touch it. It may not be best in its class for outright performance, refinement or flexibility. But it does offer great value.
