GMC Yukon Hybrid 4WD

Review

The new GMC Yukon Hybrid 4WD 4HY uses the same engine and electric motors as the 2WD model, but offers the extra stability and security of an all wheel drive. The only penalty is 1mpg difference in city fuel consumption - for many this is a price worth paying for the extra sure-footedness of the four wheel drive system. One of the advantages of the hybrid systems is that, unlike all electric vehicles, you still have the gas engine's power when you need it. The 6.0L V8 in the GMC Yukon Hybrid 4WD 4HY produces 332 HP, so although you have the potential of extra economy, if you need to accelerate rapidly then the power is available. The advantage of the Yukon over vehicles with similar consumption like the Camry, is that the Yukon offers lots of power, tons of space, and big towing capacity. It can haul enormous amounts of luggage, and it can survive the sort of repeated pounding you get crossing rough terrain - try that in your sedan! The only real trade offs are that the GMC Yukon will not handle quite as well as a sedan and obviously the purchase costs are considerably higher, but then you are getting so much more metal for your money!
