HUMMER H3

Review

For 2009 the Hummer H3 line up remains mostly unchanged - the only real change is the addition of a pick-up version the H3T. The H3 uses the 3.7L 5 cylinder engine producing 239HP mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity for the "baby" Hummer is a still useful 4500lbs. All Hummers come with low range gears for serious off-road usage. As standard the H3 comes with ABS, traction control, anti skid system, and curtain side air bags. The Hummer H3 comes with a 5yr/50,000 miles “bumper to bumper" warranty and a 100,000 mile coverage on the powertrain with free roadside assistance. Scoring a solid 5 stars in crash safety tests for driver frontal and side impact, the Hummer lets the side down slightly with a poor 3 stars for roll-over protection and just 4 stars for frontal passenger protection - not good enough in this league when up against competition like the Dodge Journey, Ford Flex, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Toyota Highlander. Those misgivings aside, the Hummer H3 remains a strong contender just with the peerless image alone.
