Isuzu SUVs 2010

Isuzu, which is Japanese for "50 bells," is the name of a river that flows through a province in Japan. The origins of the company go back to that region circa 1916. The first incarnation of Isuzu was when a shipbuilding company (Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering) decided to branch into automobile manufacture. Then in 1918 Isuzu formed a partnership with the British car manufacturer Wolseley. The company rebranded in 1949 when the name Isuzu was born. Although Isuzu has built many cars including sub compacts and hatchbacks, today the line up is exclusively SUVs and pick-ups. Isuzu has a reputation as a manufacturer who produces robust and long lasting vehicles, which is backed up with their industry leading 7-Year/75,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and roadside assistance package. There does not seem to be much cash spent in new product development in recent years under GM ownership, however there has been a steady program of updates and improvements in existing models and accessory packages. For instance, for 2008 they added standard head-curtain side-impact airbags for the flagship SUV, the Ascender, and improvements to engine managements systems across the range which means that all of the Isuzu engines now meet the EPA's tough new B4 emission requirements.
