Landrover has to be the most iconic brand in the SUV market, and with the possible exception of Jeep, Landrover have an industry leading history in the manufacture of four wheel drive vehicles. For over 60 years now Landrover have been supplying off road vehicles to both military and civilian customers alike. The design for the first Landrover was an all-purpose vehicle based on the Willys-Overland post-war Jeep. Many farmers had imported these Jeeps into the UK for their all terrain ability but were finding it hard to get spares, so Landrover decided to build a vehicle with the same abilities in the UK. The rest is history as they say! Landrover have won many awards and still continue to produce class leading vehicles. In 2007 R. L. Polk & Co named Landrover the winner in the Prestige SUV category for the third year running. The Discovery 3 model has won over 97 international awards, and the Freelander SUV is the only compact SUV to be awarded the maximum star rating for safety in Europe. Today's SUV range from Landrover in the USA includes the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, LR2 and LR3. The Range Rover has for many years offered a unique blend of limo like comfort combined with serious all terrain ability. Equally at home whisking the stars to the Oscars, or climbing steep rutted mountain tracks.
