Nissan Rogue

Review

The 2009 Rogue S 2WD is the latest compact SUV from the Nissan. The Rogue is a car based SUV (based on Nissan's Sentra compact sedan). It is powered by a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine producing 175 horsepower through a CVT transmission (continuously variable automatic transmission). Performance is brisk though this 2WD model is prone to torque steer on a heavy throttle. Standard safety equipment on the "S" model include ABS, an anti skid traction control system with front, side and curtain air bags. In this entry level model luxuries like heated leather seats, sunroof, and xenon headlights are options. Handling is sharp by SUV standards and the ride is comfortable. The level of noise entering the cabin is higher than rivals. Wind and road noise can become annoying on a long journey and the engine is boomy when accelerating. Storage and oddments space throughout the stylish cabin are plentiful and the unique Nissan storage system in the rear cargo area is extremely useful. This one touch pop-up storage system features nets and plastic bins allowing the easy separation of items in the cargo bay. Fuel economy is good with EPA figures of 21mpg in the city and 26mpg for highway driving
