The Xterra X is Nissan's entry level model in this mid-size SUV range. It comes standard with power windows, mirrors, and door locks, key less entry, cruise control, air conditioning, AM/FM/CD stereo, 60/40 split fold-flat second-row seats, roof rack side rails, and a security system with engine immobilizer. The Nissan Xterra is a true sports utility vehicle - built on a tough ladder frame chassis, this is no crossover. In fact the Nissan Xterra is based on the same platform as the Titan pick-up. The Xterra looks tough and purposeful. A perfect vehicle to transport 4 adults plus luggage into the wilderness for an adventure weekend. The standard 4.0L V6 provides plenty of power and cruises on the highway effortlessly. Safety equipment is comprehensive for all Xterras. Even this, the entry level model, has an advanced front and side air bag system, seat belt sensors, 2-wheel active brake limited slip traction control, roll-over sensor, three-point seat belts for all rear seat occupants, front pre tensioners with force limiters, a child seat anchor system, and a useful tire-pressure monitor. Fuel economy is reasonable with 16mpg city/20mpg highway.
