Suzuki's largest SUV offering, the XL-7 offers the size and space of a mid size SUV for a compact SUV price. The Suzuki XL7 Premium seats up to seven people in a standard three row format, but the rearmost row is cramped and for children - or adults on very short trips. Powered by a V6 24-valve, 3.6L engine, developing 252HP, with a new, more economical, six-speed automatic transmission, the XL-7 delivers 17mpg city/23mpg highway. The Suzuki XL7 drives more like a car than an SUV or truck, despite the fact it is competent off road and has a useful 3,500lbs of towing capacity. With plenty of storage compartments and interior space, the XL-7 is well suited for family utility. Five-star safety ratings enhance the appeal, as does the 7 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Despite the fact that the Suzuki XL7 Premium offers lots of space and equipment, it is one of the poorest selling mid-size SUVs. The simple fact is that the XL-7 is mediocre, in a segment full of exceptional vehicles. However, if you need plenty of space and SUV versatility on a low budget, the Suzuki XL7 Premium FWD is still a solid choice.
