The Toyota SUV line up is closely connected to the roots of the company that manufactures them. The company originates from Japan and offers a full and extensive line of vehicles from SUVs to sedans to minivans. Each time a new model rolls out, the general overview is positive. Most people find that despite a few factory issues and a recall that was riddled with controversy, Toyota is a well respected name among the many car companies that are vying for the attention of the consumer.

The Toyota SUV family was born in the 1980s and consists of seven different models. This includes one hybrid (Highlander) and one retro vehicle (FJ Cruiser) as well as one of the first small crossovers (RAV 4). Toyota extends the same class of research, quality control, and product development to its SUV line as the first vehicle produced in 1935. There is a level of well developed information that is gathered prior to the final design of any vehicle. This is how reliable, well priced vehicles are made.

The biggest, roomiest, and brawniest of the Toyota SUV line is the Sequoia. Base priced at around $40000 the second generation is big on V8 power. With eight passenger seating (seven if captain\'s chairs are used for the second row) and ample room for adults all the way back through the third row of seating, and 120 cubic feet of cargo space with an easy to fold down third row seat, the Sequoia is one of the roomier stylish choices. The design is certainly upscale and modernized.

The Sequoia is the Toyota SUV that literally comes equipped as a powerhouse. The 4.7 liter V8 was enhanced with additional horsepower for the second generation, bringing it to 282 horses. The addition of a five speed automatic transmission also improved the power over the four speed.

From the biggest Toyota SUV to the smallest, the RAV 4 was also among the first of only a few crossovers in the early days of mix and match vehicles. Handling and comfort was the focus of the RAV 4. This little Toyota SUV is now in the third generation, is reasonably priced at about $25000, and gets better fuel efficiency than most models. It is small and light and yet the V6 provides a bigger boost of power than the Highlander\'s engine. It is loaded with ample safety features, and each new model trim level offers something special and unique. The Limited trim level adds sport tuned suspension, ergonomically designed interior controls, and a lot of little luxury features that make it great family ride.

All of the Toyota SUVs both past and present, are designed for people who prefer to purchase a vehicle and then drive it well past the final payment. Longevity, value, and versatility is exactly what keeps the line in the limelight. Critics are typically happy with each new redesign, and the consumers that have experienced Toyota\'s quality and performance tend to be lifelong customers of the brand.
