Toyota Highlander SUV Review

The Toyota Highlander SUV is one of the most popular mid-sized SUVs and has been around for ten years. This is one of the first SUVs designed by Toyota that were in the crossover range and it was based a great deal on the design of the Camry. Because of this, the Toyota Highlander SUV has a comfortable ride and handles all road types smoothly with very little jarring of the occupants. The cabin has plenty of room and seats seven people comfortably though adults may find the third row seating a bit uncomfortable so many prefer the smaller children to be seated there. The rear seats have been split to enable more cargo when needed although there is plenty of cargo space with the seats up as well. The center seats of the Toyota Highlander SUV can also be adjusted by taking out the middle seat to enable easier access to the third row seating. With the exception of the middle seat, the second row seating also offers captain chair with armrests similar to the front row seating. The armrests can be lifted up to allow passengers into the third row seating when the second row middle seat is in use.

There are two basic engine sizes for the Toyota Highlander SUV; the first is the basic model which boasts a 2.7 liter, straight 4 cylinder that offers one hundred and eighty seven horse power. This model comes with a six speed automatic transmission and gets twenty miles per gallon in city driving and twenty five on the highway. The second is the upgrade which consists of a 3.5 liter V6 engine with two hundred and seventy horse power and a five speed automatic with front wheel drive. The Toyota Highlander SUV is one of the fastest SUVs on the market as the 3.5 liter model can go from zero to sixty in just seven and a half seconds. It offers five doors, four for passengers and a rear door to access the cargo hold and rear seats. There is a standard roof rack to enable more cargo to be taken such as suitcases or skis for trips with the family when the rear seats are in use the rear cargo area does not offer as much space. The interior is top of the line with all the features one would expect from the Toyota Highlander SUV. There are options available such as Bluetooth hands free phone capabilities, iPod/MP3 player inputs, a navigation system and satellite radio.

While there are many mid-sized SUVs on the market today, the Toyota Highlander SUV tops the list because of its performance, durability, quiet ride and spacious interior. While other models may have more rear seat leg room, overall, this model has more features that others lack. With traction and stability control, the Toyota Highlander SUV is one of the safest crossovers on the road and fir this reason, along with the low price tag, many people are choosing it over other comparable models.
