Volkswagen Tiguan SUV Review

It has become increasingly popular for automobile manufacturers to come with own brand of small SUVs. These are also known as crossovers because many use a car frame with the body and drive trains of the standard SUVs or trucks in their line. Volkswagen is no stranger to following trends and has come up with their own small SUV crossover. The Volkswagen Tiguan SUV in 2012 has been reinvented with a better body style and more features than past models. It seats five but the back seat can be a bit cramped. It also does not have as much cargo area as other similar SUVs of the same size which is a disappointment considering all the other changes that were made. This becomes even more apparent when the high sticker price is compared with other models. For the price of the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV, one could purchase a medium or even full sized SUV with no extras included. This is a sad state of affairs for Volkswagen who in the past was reputedly one of the best European auto manufacturers. Unfortunately, the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV falls short in comparison to other small SUVs in more than just cost and interior space.
The engine in the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is a weak two liters with only two hundred horse power and its only saving grace is that it does have a lot of get up and go hitting sixty miles an hour in just over eight seconds. There are two distinct transmission types to choose from with the six speed manual transmission available in front wheel drive and the six speed automatic which can be purchased with either front wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on the buyer's preference. The Volkswagen Tiguan SUV does top the charts in safety coming in with a full six airbags, two front and four side, which allows all occupants to remain safe in the event of an accident. There are other safety features as well including anti-lock brakes, a gage that monitors the pressure in the tires, traction control and a monitor for electronic stability. The exterior of the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV has been upgraded with more chrome, new wheels and better lights along with a new grill. On the inside, the new trip computer allows passengers to have full access to navigation, mileage at a glance and other options. The interior is also a cut above other models even though it is a bit small.
On the whole, without looking at the sticker price, the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is a great little crossover that looks good, runs well and offers average mileage. When compared to other models, it may seem a bit pricey but those who are more concerned with how the car looks and runs make consider this not to be a downside at all. While others are less expensive, they do not offer the safety features nor do they offer the sleek look of the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV.

awesome vehicle, i bought one two months ago
I have a 2009 Tiguan and have had plenty problems. at 48000 the third manifold went into the car. I can say when it rides it is a great car. But inherit into this is that the engine has to function well and having had it into the shop approx 6-7 times not related to maintenance
