Volvo XC90 SUV Review

Volvo has been bringing the best of the best in auto manufacturing throughout the new millennia and has kept to this tradition with their line of crossover SUVs. The Volvo XC90 SUV is the big boy of the Volvo line of crossover SUVs and has all the bells and whistles anyone could want. Even though it is being offered as a midsized crossover, this beast can seat seven passengers comfortably and has a good sized engine. The seats can be dropped down to allow for more cargo area which can top out at eighty five cubic inches. The Volvo XC90 SUV is also coming in with one of the best warranty deals with forty eight months or fifty thousand miles being the standard. Longer warranties can be purchased through Volvo if it is wanted but with the reliability and safety features of the Volvo XC90 SUV, there is really no reason for concern with anything going wrong with this vehicle. Whether the purchaser has a family or just needs a vehicle that can handle off road and areas with no roads or inclement weather, this SUV is a cut above the rest and can handle anything that is thrown at it.
When it comes to engine power, the Volvo XC90 SUV brings it to the table without sacrificing mileage in these tough times with gas prices soaring. The standard 3.2 liter engine comes with an inline six cylinders and boasts two hundred and forty horse power and tops out at just over six thousand rounds per minute. The transmission is six speeds with an overdrive and come with either front wheel or for those who need more a full all-wheel drive. The towing capacity of the Volvo XC90 SUV can handle loads up to five thousand pounds which enables this crossover to pull a good sized fifth wheel trailer or a large boat to destinations with or without paved roads. There are a multitude of safety features included in the Volvo XC90 SUV including rear booster seats for the children who are too big for a car seat but who need the added protection. There are antilock brakes, side curtain airbags to protect the passengers in the back seats and a Blind Spot Information System. Other safety features include Roll Stability Control and electronic brake force distribution. It is no wonder that Volvo is a leader when it comes to safety in their vehicles, not just the crossovers.
Because Volvo is synonymous with safety, quality and durability, it is no surprise that the sticker price reflects these standards. The Volvo XC90 SUV is not a cheap vehicle but the cost, starting at $38,000 is well worth the comfort of knowing that all occupants are safe. When the hands free Bluetooth calling feature and Sirius satellite radio are thrown in on the base Volvo XC90 SUV, this makes the price even more worthwhile. At the end of the day, high end crossovers can cost much more than this model and not offer everything that Volvo offers.

Volvo XC 90 is a good car! Daniel Shen
I have a 2002 XC70 D5 auto, and the car has been nothing but trouble. It had 123 000 kms on the odo when I bought it, four years ago. Now it has done 159 000 kms, and it runs on the second auto-gearbox.
A monster. Drives quite decently. Comfort too is not bad. Third row is a plus for ferrying passengers. Good road clearance height but not too high. Steering is a little unexciting but can get use to. A little knocking noise here and there. And a little wheezing/whistling noise here and there. Could not pinpoint the source. Guess it's ok. Overall, not bad at all. Car fees solid like a tank and safe. I would recommend it. Good value for the price.
I love my XC90. No problems what so ever and it rides great. I can't understand why people don't like them. Great SUV. Good on gas as well.
We just traded off our 2006 XC-90, great car to drive, but way too expensive in repairs. Transmission replaced, all wheel drive system (mechanical) replaced. Car became too risky for further repair costs to keep it. Too bad such a nice car can be so unreliable.
