3 Things We Should Expect From The 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc GTI

It’s rare to see an automaker come up with a performance version of a compact crossover SUV. It’s unusual in this certain segment, but Volkswagen may like the challenge of this idea. The T-Roc was launched in 2017, becoming the smallest crossover in VW’s lineup.

With the likes of the Nissan Juke, Toyota C-HR, and Renault Captur. A beefed-up version of the T-Roc was spotted testing on public roads, and it confirmed suspicions that VW is gearing to create a whole new market for performance-oriented compact crossovers.

1. Exterior

The T-Roc R-Line has a sporty appearance, so we think that the GTI will be loosely based on that exterior. It adds, among others, horizontal slats to the bumper grille, splitter-like elements up front, sports black wheel arch extensions, body-colored side skirts, new wheels, and the trademark red stripe across the grille.

The bumper will be taller and will give the GTI a more planted look. The sides will feature the usual black window trim, side skirt extensions, and a fancier set of wheels.

2. Interior

The T-Roc’s interior will be a little cramped, of course. This is a compact crossover, after all. It would have a premium feel all throughout the cabin, though—from the dashboard to the comfortable seats to the infotainment system. Some upgrades the GTI could bring are turning the colored inserts and the paddle shifters red since it’s the traditional GTI color.

The steering wheel is expected to have a more aggressive design with red accents. The standard seats will be replaced with sportier units with heavier bolstering and maybe even integrated headrests. The standard T-Roc comes with a 6.5-inch infotainment screen but the GTI will likely have the 8-inch version. This will come with a CD player, Discover Media, and a navigation system. The 11.7-inch instrument cluster will display a ton of information—drivetrain info, phone apps, and a media library.

3. Performance

The Golf GTI uses a turbocharged four-pot engine that produces 217 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. the T-Roc GTI could use the same engine with the same output. Currently, the range-topping T-Roc gets 187 horses and236 pound-feet of torque, so the increase of 30 ponies and 20 pound-feet makes sense.

3 Ways The 2020 BMW 8 Series Convertible Will Amaze Us

The BMW 8 Series is back and it will officially replace the 6 Series. The 8 Series will be revived both in racing and full production forms. A BMW 8 Series Convertible model is expected to follow soon, and X-Tomi Design just came up with a rendering of the car.

1. Exterior

The 8 Series convertible will have a wide and low stance, making it look a lot like the coupe version. The electrically retractable soft top is made from fabric, and it will be the replacement for the roof that’s on the coupe model. The majority of the body will be like the coupe version—from the new kidney grille design on the nose down to the long wheelbase and set of air vents placed behind the front wheels.

The rear end will set the convertible apart from the coupe though because its trunk lid has to accommodate the retractable top.

2. Interior

The rendering shows that the interior of the convertible will be similar to the coupe version, too. That means high-end materials such as leather and aluminum are going to be used on the dashboard, the side panels, and the seats. The horizontal orientation of the Bimmer’s new dashboard and center console will be an added bonus since a lot of users have come to love the layout.

The screen behind the dashboard will be measured 12.3 inches while the digital infotainment screen is a 10.25-inch display on the center console. There will be a bevy of technology such as safety standards and more advanced systems like the gesture control.

3. Powertrain

The convertible will carry over the coupe’s twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8, which is also known as the N63. The unit can produce 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque in the coupe. The output for the convertible will likely be the same.

The engine of the 8 Series can reach 60 mph from a complete standstill in just 3.6 seconds while its top speed is 155 mph.

4 Things You Have To Know About The 2019 Audi RS9 Coupe

audi rs9 coupe

Three decades ago, Audi couldn’t even be uttered in the same breath as Mercedes-Benz and BMW. But in the 1990s and 2000s, the Ingolstadt-based company produced premium cars such as the A4, A6, A8, and Q7. But even though it has upgraded its lineup, Audi couldn’t even compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. Thankfully, that’s about to change now with the 2019 Audi RS9 Coupe.

1. Exterior

The A9 will be based on the A8’s design and since we’ve already seen what that looks like, we have a pretty comfortable simulation of how “muscular” the A9 will be. Expect to see the same massive grille, muscular engine hood, angular headlamps, and big vents on each corner of the bumper.

Because it’s an RS model, the intakes are larger and will occupy almost the entire area under the headlamps as seen in the rendering of TopSpeed above. An RS9 badge will be on a more aggressive nose. In terms of exterior, the upcoming RS9 should have a similar elegant design to the Mercedes-AMG S63 and the BMW M8.

2. Interior

The interior will be based heavily on the standard A9, which means it is similar to the A8 with the addition of a sportier design such as a carbon-fiber trim and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The interior of the RS9 will most likely have the same horizontal lines as the A8, which means a wide look and smooth, clean surfaces.

The legroom will be similar to the sedan but since this is a coupe, the shoulder room and the headroom will decrease because of the roofline. The tech package will include the latest infotainment system such as the Apple CarPlay, the Android Auto, and the new AI traffic jam pilot.

3. Drivetrain

There is no word on what the RS9 will have under its hood, but we can expect it to have either a 4.0-liter V-8 engine or a bigger 6.0-liter W-12. The W-12 produces 600 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. But if it wants to give Mercedes-AMG S63 and the BMW M8 some real competition, it should aim for 610 horses at the minimum.

4. Prices

We are just guessing here, but the Audi RS9 will probably retail with a price tag of $200,000 and above.

Getting To Know The 2018 BMW X3

The BMW X3 is a huge favorite for those who want an everyday car that is versatile, functional, efficient and luxurious. It has been refreshed for the 2015 model year and will be fully upgraded for 2018.

According to a report, the expected upgrades will bring a full redesign of the exterior, improved interior space and comfort, as well as a new diesel engine and plug-in hybrid.

Exterior

The spy shots allowed the rendering of how the 2018 BMW X3 will look like. The new X3 is expected to have a more refined design, but obviously, the kidney grilles will remain. What’s a Bimmer without it? The headlights will be similar to the refreshed 2015 version, but they will be placed a little beyond the lens. There’s a running LED strip from the outside corner, under the bulbs to the lower inboard point. The round fog lights will be carried over, along with air dam, and shortened corner vents.

The sides have been changed a bit. The upper body line now runs straight from the fender back. It is also sharper and a bit more refined than the one you can find on the current model. The wheels have dual five-spoke design.

Interior

The new X3’s steering wheel has a longer bottom spoke with silver buttons and silver insert over the bottom spoke. The instrument cluster cannot be seen because of the cover on the spy shots, but it’s safe to say that it’ll have a digital speedo on the left and a digital tachometer on the right.

The center console looks the same, but there are chrome overlays on the side, and the tech is more refined and luxurious. That is largely thanks to the free-standing and larger infotainment screen that looks like it’s floating from the top of the center stack.

As for the cargo, there should be a 60-40 folding rear seat. The hip and legroom may also increase.

Drivetrain

The next X3 will build on the CLAR platform that is being used on the 3 series and all larger BMW vehicles. It will have a range of gas and diesel engines, as well as an incoming plug-in hybrid.
