2018 Buick LaCrosse Gets New Sport Touring Trim

There’s a new trim in the Buick LaCrosse family. It’s called the Sport Touring. The Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring is going to be the top trim option in the LaCrosse lineup, packing a whopping 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque.

The Buick LaCrosse is Buick’s flagship model and though it’s technically not a special edition, the features the Sport Touring packs might as well make it one.

Exterior

The exterior gets a monotone theme which included a body-color grille surround. This is the only model that gets such treatment because all the other models received the chrome detail. Aside from that, the Sport Touring trim also has a black mesh grille, a subtle rear spoiler, “ST” badging on the trunk lid, and a new set of 19-inch wheels.

There are five different color options for the sedan: White Frost Tricoat, Satin Steel Metallic, Quicksilver Metallic, Red Quartz Tintcoat, and Ebony Twilight Metallic.

Interior

There might be nothing new in the LaCrosse Sport Touring’s cabin. Buick didn’t mention any changes, so expect the same treatment as the regular LaCrosse. The wraparound dashboard will still be the main feature of the car, and chrome and wood should also be available for this exclusive new trim. There’s a lot we like about the LaCrosse’s interior, particularly the floating center console that’s expected to be in this trim as well.

Performance

Another upgrade the Buick made is on the powertrain. The Sport Touring trim will pack a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that can produce 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just around six seconds. It has a top speed of 155 mph.

Because this is the flagship model of the Buick LaCrosse line, expect it to have a much higher price tag than its contemporaries. Buick and GMC Marketing Vice President Phil Brook said that the Sport Touring is what Buick means by “luxury.” Among many others, it offers Buick’s “QuietTuning, spirited and efficient performance and the latest in-car connectivity all at a tremendous value to customers.”

The Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring should cost over $40,000.
