2015 is supposedly to be the year of BMW because to make it large in the futuristic SUV segment, the company is all geared up to hit the bull’s eye with its second generation 2015 BMW X6, which is being stipulated as the new version of its 2014 X6. After its arrival is Moscow Motor Show, the vehicle is expected to hit the market soon. To keep the design simple for X6, BMW has kept it roots on new generation X5 model and the dimensions for X6 are also same 4900/ 1980/1700mm – l/w/h. the only change you will notice will be in its wheel base, which is expected to be a little higher. The distinct line of X6 will remain same, but minute design details have the potential to give this 2015 vehicle more aggressive look and feel.
It is quite evident that the increased wheel base will also increase the space inside the car making it more spacious. The only noticeable difference between the current model and the new 2015 BMW X6 model is the latter ones slanted front end along with protruding front grille which is placed vertically in the newly designed X6. In rear also you can find some noticeable changes like bumper appearance, quad pipe exhaust system and light clusters, which are all a welcome relief from rather mundane designing of current version.
The drive unit if 2015 BMW X6 is same as the new generation BMW X5 models. The X6 will be coming with 4.41 liter V8 petrol engine with the ability to generate 450hp and 650lb-ft torque. Apart from petrol engine customer can also look for 6 cylinder 3.0I twin power diesel engine with the ability to produce 285hp and 560lb-ft torque. You can also get your diesel engine supplemented by its six-cylinder of 3.0l three turbo diesel engine of 381hp and torque 740lb-ft for improved and efficient performance dynamics. In addition to its standard diesel and petrol engine, the company has also promised to introduce its hybrid plug in propulsion system for its X6. It is being speculated that the hybrid version of X6 will mostly be based on the 2015 BMW X5 model. The hybrid version of 2015 BMW X6 is expected to be available during 2015 only and not before that.
Other changes in the new design of X6 include its availability in the sports trim level which is named as 2015 BMW X6 M and is expected to be available in the market by late 2014. The sports version is expected to have significant changes from its current model. The front bumper will be replaced by large air ventilator. With new bumper, roof spoiler and exhaust system with four pipes, the X6 M is sure to be a winner. Go for its because of its upgraded high performance brakes, alloy wheels and modified suspension.

The 2014 Infiniti QX70
Infiniti rebadged its sporty FX midsized crossover range including the V6 powered FX37 and V8 engined FX50 as the QX70 as a part of the manufacturers new Q-based nomenclature system. The new sports beauty is due in late 2015 or early the following year. Proudly maintaining the bold styling of its predecessors the 2014 Infiniti QX70 will be the crossover’s third iteration. The changed name is no reason to be fooled for apart from the new moniker, the QX70 still remains identical to the last years FX and hence is still one of the most drover-focused crossovers in the market all credits to the platform shared with the agile and sporty Nissan 370Z sports car. A few welcome changes, however, will include more interior space in order to alleviate one of the main drawbacks of the current model. Along with that a cushier cabin is also a plus point for the new SUV.
For a change, it is sometimes alright to judge a book by its cover. The new QX70’s muscular lines and aggressive stance speaks all about the crossover and suggests that this little monster is all about performance and it certainly carries under its metal veils just the right stuff to back up that impression. Strengthened by a version of the RWD-based architecture shared by the 370Z, the QX70 is nimble with its responses to control inputs and offers a taut, yet not uncomfortable ride. Offering its customers a choice between couple of stout powerplants, QX70 comes in a standard and an optional engine variation. The standard motor which is a 3.6 liter V-6 engine generates 325 horsepower and 267 pound feet of torque. The optional engine is a 5.0 liter V8 which elevates the output by 65 generating about 390 ponies and impressive 369 pound feet of twist which, in fact, is enough to cruise up the vehicle to 60 mph from rest in a sprint time of just over 5 seconds. Both the engines are mated with a seven speed automatic transmission. While the V6 is based on rear wheel drive as standard but can be optioned with all-wheel drive, the V8 is available exclusively with all wheel drive. Fuel economy for the FWD V6 and AWD V6 is rated as 17/24 city/highway mpg and 16/22 mpg respectively while the V8 returns 14/20 mpg.
On the inside, the new QX70 welcomes its passengers with a sybaritic cabin manifested with plush materials like soft leather, brushed aluminum and genuine wood trim. Since there is no iDrive-style infotainment controller, conventional buttons flourish. Sadly, offering just 24 cubic feet of trunk room, which is less than some “compact” crossovers like the Honda CR-V, a compromised cargo space disappoints. However, folding the rear seats down, swells up the storage to 62 cubic feet!
Both the versions come with a myriad of additional optional feature that help customize the 2014 Infiniti QX70 according to its owner. Once unique among luxury crossovers due to its wild styling over interior space, the QX70 now competes with even more radically styles “coupe-crossovers” like the BMW X6 and Acura ZDX.
Maserati Levante – “Made in Italy”
Heavily anticipated new Maserati Levante is going to be a “Latin blend” of fashion, a blend of what else but the amazing BMW X6 and the luxurious Porsche Cayenne. Albeit originally planned to built in a Chrysler US factory in Detroit, the muscularly styled SUV is now expected to be produced in Italy due to the strong and growing demand for Jeep products and hence a need for a stronger factory to support its production. Along with what is said about the new Maserati Levante having mixed influences from the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X6, the 2011 Maserati Kubang concept could also provide a clue for the new SUV’s visual character. However, this is just a clue not the actual styling! The key to what the new Maserati actually is road-based dynamics, deft athletic styling, room for five and a plush cabin.
What powers the Maserati’s luxury sports SUV is the company’s new twin turbocharged 3.0 liter petrol V6 engine generating 410 brake horsepower and a twin turbocharged 3.8 liter V8 producing a massive 530 brake horsepower. With twin turbos, direct injection, variable valve timing and an intercooler for each turbo, Levante’s would be a fully modern mill. A 271 bhp 3.0 liter V6 turbodiesel will be the key powerplant for Europe. All engine options will be linked to an eight speed automatic transmission making the on road dynamics of the SUV a delight to experience. Along with prancing horsepower, amazing transmission, a version of the ‘Q4’ all wheel drive system is adapted in the new Levante from its application in the new Ghilbi and Quattroporte models from the firm.
This all wheel drive system which already makes the Ghilbi a horse with some real giddy-up, will be modified to be used in the Maserati’s sports ute for its dual purpose role for the all new Levante is expected to follow the footsteps of sister brand Jeep’s on its expertise in rough terrain capabilities. Simply means that the levanter will be equally good an off-roader as it’s going to be an amazing on-road luxury ute. While the structure for Levante will draw on Quattroporte and Ghilbi, its electronics will come from Chrysler and Jeep. Since the Levante gets part of its powertrain and outfit from Ghilbi and Quattroporte, it won’t be surprising if the luxurious yet athletic SUV contains a high level of weight-saving aluminum in its body and suspension.
Maserati boss Herald Wester says the Levante is likely to be Italian built although not at the new Grugliasco plant which is home to the Ghilbi and Quattroporte since the beast is way too big for the body-framing equipment and paint plant to handle. The very fact that Maserati’s new SUV is somewhat a blend of Cayenne and BMW X6 makes it a worthy opponent for the two. X5 is also a sports ute that stands against the Levante. With its defined looks that come from the competitors and its sashaying drive that comes with the tag “Maserati”, this SUV is one to look forward to!
