Jeep Wrangler To Arrive In Showrooms In April 2019
The new Jeep Wrangler will hit dealers’ showrooms in April 2019, that’s the only piece of information we got from the four-hour-long conference that Fiat-Chrysler dealers had last week. The production for the pickup will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, so it makes sense that availability in showrooms will only start April next year.
What we are waiting for, though, is a look at the bedded Jeep minus the camouflage that we have seen it is wrapped in less than eight weeks ago. There are rumors, and we’re pretty sure there’s a bit of truth to this, that the official introduction will happen at the LA Auto Show this November to December. If previous timelines are to be the basis, this makes sense since the standard Wrangler only broke cover a year ago (by November).
Though we’re anticipating for the November introduction, we don’t know exactly what to expect. We don’t even know under what name this new pickup will be released. Jeep has kept everything under wraps. But based on all the spy shots and leaks we have heard and seen, the Jeep will be a four-door Unlimited with a short bed. Though there are rumors that it will be a two-door Wrangler pickup, these remain mere speculations up to now.
The powertrain options might be the same as the others in the lineup: a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder that can deliver 268 horses, a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that produces 285 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 with 442 pound-feet of torque.
Sergio Marchionne, Fiat-Chrysler’s CEO, expects 100,000 Wrangler pickups to be sold each year starting April 2019. If reached, that would mean a 56-percent increase in Wrangler’s current US and European volume.
The last Wrangler pickup was the 1986 CJ-8 Scrambler but in April 2019, the Wrangler will join the likes of Chevrolet Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier, and the new Ford Ranger. The Wrangler, however, will still be the only one to offer a convertible top.

Jeep Adds $750 To The Price of The 2018 Wrangler JL
Like a thief in the night, Jeep quietly raised the price for its all-new 2018 Wrangler JL by $750. The news came out just after Jeep released its February sales report, which showed a 17 percent increase on the sale of the Wrangler compared to the same period last year.
The report said that Jeep was able to sell 15,936 units of the off-road-oriented midsize SUV for the month of February. This boosted, of course, the moral of Jeep to actually increase the price of the Wrangler JL. There will be a $500 add-on to the price of every Wrangler model with the $250 being charged as the SUV’s destination fee.
Because of this, the cheapest Wrangler JL that customers can get their hands on will be priced $28,940. If you want a Jeep Wrangler, but don’t exactly want to shell out for the prices of the current generation, you can still get your hands on the 2018 Wrangler JL’s predecessor. Jeep is still selling the Wrangler JK at $25,440 after Jeep, same with the JL, added a $250 destination charge.
Even before Jeep decided to cash in on the rising popularity of the Wrangler JL, people already found the model too pricey for their liking. Still, that didn’t stop fans and enthusiasts of the model to dip into their pockets and place their money for GMC to swipe.
You can’t really blame GMC to wanting to rise the prices for the JL. Both Mercedes-Benz and Toyota are selling similar off-road vehicles for more than double the price of the Wrangler JL. Does that mean the JL has cheaper specs and materials? Definitely, no. But, it does show you just how much these vehicles really cost. The luxury vehicles, G-Class and Land Cruiser, are both doing well in sales, so the $750 price increase may not affect Wrangler’s sales, after all.
The 3 Power Options For The New Jeep Wrangler
The new JL-series Wrangler will be introduced in November 2017 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and is expected to be in dealerships by December of the same year. This 2018 Jeep Wrangler model will have three new power options customers can choose from, including a diesel engine that will surely be the favorite for so many.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles held a meeting with select Jeep dealers this week for the new model, making the information about the three powertrains available for us.
1. Inline-4 Engine
During the launch in November 2017, there will be two powertrain options instantly available for customers. The standard option will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, which has already been confirmed as early as last year. Reports and estimations indicate that the engine will be able to produce as much as 300 horses. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2. V-6 Engine
The second power option in the launch would be an upgraded version of the 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which is in the current Jeep Wrangler. It has an output of 285 horsepower, but that would be significantly boosted in the 2019 Jeep Wrangler. Those who will prefer the V-6 engine can pair it up with either a manual or automatic transmission, though the automatic one would probably the choice for most drivers.
3. Diesel Engine
Finally, the most important tidbit of information we got is that the third powertrain option would be a diesel engine. This would be introduced in 2019 the earliest, but there could be a couple of adjustments because the diesel option in discussion is the 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 that FCA has been having trouble with because of emissions. There are also some rumors that the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tanks, which were used to reduce nitrogen oxides in diesel vehicles, would be fitted in the new Wrangler.
There are no news yet on how many horses the diesel engine can produce for the Wrangler, but if it’s any indication, the Jeep Grand Cherokee had 240 horsepower. It will be possibly paired with an automatic transmission.

Check Out These Spy Shots of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler
The Jeep Wrangler sports a classic, rugged and unique look combined with reliability and performance even on rough roads. The said features allowed it to survive the market since it came into production in 1986. Recently, a new model of the vehicle was spotted and spy shots of it were taken.
According to Car and Driver, which is the source of the latest spy shots, the new Wrangler will be unveiled before 2017 ends. The auto will be sold under a 2018 model year. It is estimated to cost near the $25,090 price tag of its current model.
1. Engine
The report claimed that the 2018 Wrangler will be available in diesel and hybrid versions. The vehicle was confirmed to get a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. There are no details yet about the possible output of the auto but the source mentioned that it will take either an eight-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual gearbox.
It added that the new Wrangler will be available in a four-wheel drive system with manually-operated transfer case. There is also a possibility that the upcoming Jeep will offer a turbocharged four-cylinder engine unit before the diesel and hybrid powertrains arrive.
2. Body
The 2018 Wrangler is expected to carry a new platform, which will be lighter than the one supporting the current model because of its more use of aluminum. The auto will have two-door, four-door and pickup designs.
3. Interior
The multimedia console of the Wrangler will receive significant upgrades. The infotainment touchscreen in high trim models will have better response and easier to operate, thanks to its Uconnect 3.0. Moreover, the article estimated that the touchscreen of the auto will measure 8.4 inches diagonally for the high-end units while the lower end trims will have the 5.0-inch screen.
Furthermore, there appears to be updated climate control system for the new Wrangler plus sound system controls as well as parking assist sensors, start-stop function for the engine, and heaters for the steering wheel.

Jeep Wrangler 75th Anniversary Edition Gets Array Of New Goodies
Every car in the Jeep range gets its own special 75th Anniversary Edition, but nothing is more interesting than the Jeep Wrangler’s version.
By far, it’s the closest in style to the military style reminiscent of Willys off-roader that kicked off the brand’s story in 1941. After the Land Rover Defender, the Jeep Wrangler is the most classic and iconic vehicle coming out of that era.
You may want a brand new car, but that doesn’t mean this special edition Jeep Wrangler won’t attract your eyes. More than comfort, luxury and other technological necessities we find in cars today, Jeep Wrangler prioritizes off-road ability, making it the ideal companion for outdoor trips and sporting activities.
According to Top Gear, the 75th Anniversary Edition will come with an array of features—the option of the new paint finish, Sarge Green, 18-inch alloy wheels, limited-slip differentials, leather seats and a new sat nav and premium sound system.
Inside, it’s easy to see that the Jeep Wrangler did not put comfort over function. It has chunky buttons, hardy plastics and a very upright driving position. This simplicity is a welcome sight, though, as it provides the functionality we all need from a vehicle.
But if you’re the kind who likes to fiddle with all the features a car maker can chunk into an SUV, then you’ll be wrong to go with the Jeep Wrangler. This is made for rugged terrain, where its four-wheel drive and low-range gearing would be most useful.
As for the engine, it comes in two options—a 281 bhp 3.6-lite V6 petrol and a 197 bhp 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel. You would want the diesel, of course, since it has 1,600 rpm of torque compared to the gasoline’s 4,300 rpm. This would come into play when you have hills to climb.
All of these would total to a price tag of £32,000 for the Jeep Wrangler 75th Anniversary Edition.
