Spy Shots of the 2017 Honda CRV Surface
The Honda CRV was, and remains to be, one of Honda’s most popular vehicles ever. Now, it looks like we have seen a prototype of this SUV for the next model year.
This will be the fifth generation of the popular compact crossover SUV, and it’s looking to be the most radical of the lot. Based on the spy photos, the new CRV will be larger than its predecessor (remember that the first generation CRV was a very compact SUV in form), but this makes sense for Honda since they already have the HRV for the smaller SUV segment.
Because of its size, we’re expecting that the new CRV can handle third-row seats, which will turn it into a direct competitor of the three-row Volkswagen Tiguan.
In truth, the new CRV is looking like it’s going to be based on the platform introduced in the 10th-generation Civic, though this one’s a little stretched. This platform is lighter and stiffer than anything we have seen from Honda. It should benefit the CRV’s dynamic qualities, too.
Aside from the Civic platform, the CRV will also be sharing other elements such as the turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder and CVT. When fitted on the Civic, this engine can deliver 174 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque. A higher output can be expected from the CRV.
Some may also be happy to know that a naturally-aspirated engine will be an option for the 2017 Honda CRV. It will also have a front-wheel drive system as standard while the all-wheel drive will remain as an option.
The 2017 Honda CRV is being geared for a debut late this year or early next year. Prices will reportedly begin very close to the $24,645 price tag the current model has. Of course, options for next year’s model will soon be released, so we’ll know soon enough the base and top-of-the-line price range..

Spy Shots Of The 2018 Ford Fiesta ST Emerge
Ford is currently working on their next-generation Ford Fiesta hatchback. Lucky are we today that we found some spy shots of the prototype for the new ST model.
It was amazing how the engineers tried to make the 2018 prototype look like the regular Fiesta, but some clues in terms of its exterior have given way for us to take a good guess of how sporty this ST model is going to be.
The most obvious new features are the uprated wheels, tires and brakes. The Ford Fiesta ST should have multi-spokes because its maker has been trying to hide larger brakes, although the front rotors and calipers don’t actually look bigger than normal.
There are also dual-exhaust tips at the rear and a seemingly large intercooler at the front. A new spoiler is also spotted and it looks bigger than the Fiesta previewed a few weeks ago.
Based on the photos, the engineers are using the current Ford Fiesta ST as a benchmark.
In terms of powertrain, we expect the new ST to retain front-wheel drive, manual transmissions and the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. But since this is the next-generation ST and it promised to be sportier, we should see some extra horsepower.
To recall, Ford has just launched a special Fiesta ST200 to mark the impending end of the current Fiesta range. And though that wasn’t intended for the US market, its turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder should fit well with the offering in this new ST.
The same engine will produce a fairly average 212 horsepower. With this, we’re hoping there’s also a hotter Fiesta RS somewhere in the future.
This new Fiesta, including the ST model, will debut next year as a 2018 model. Reports said it can make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Ford is reportedly also planning to launch a next-generation Focus, which will come in as a later model compared to the 2018 Fiesta ST.
Check Out the Spy Shots and Video of the 2018 BMW M5
Since BMW is launching its new 5-Series soon, we can expect another M5 sledgehammer from the German automaker. Spy shots, plus a video, were released of the new BMW M5.
What’s exciting about these spy shots is that the M5 was wearing the least bit of camouflage gear we have seen on a vehicle being test driven. According to reports, the M5 will have a V8 engine, which is likely to be an updated version of the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 used in the current M5.
The 2018 M5’s predecessor, the M5 30 Jahre Edition, can produce 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The new M5 will probably have a lot more horsepower and torque.
However, instead of increasing the power, engineers are more likely to focus on reducing the weight of the car. The new model will reportedly weigh 220 pounds less than the current model, thanks to the adoption of the carbon-infused, modular-designed CLAR platform that was in the 2016 7-Series.
Another welcome update to the new M5 would be the xDrive all-wheel drive, which will probably be an option. This platform will normally send torque to the rear wheels, but will be sending some forward once slip is detected.
The standard transmission would be a 7-speed dual-clutch unit, but no manual transmission will be offered.
On the outside, the look seems to be inspired by the latest 7-Series. There’s a very wide and low front bumper with pumped fenders on the side. Based on the spy shots, the rear end sports a small diffuser was integrated with the bumper unit.
In the wheels, you’ll find a pair of massive perforated brake discs.
The new 5-Series is expected to be released this year, but the M5 won’t be coming out until 2017, so it would likely be a 2018 model. Direct rivals of the M5 would be the Audi RS 6, Cadillac CTS-V and Mercedes-AMG E63.
Spy Shots Reveal the 2017 Peugeot 3008
We are now seeing the new 2016 Peugeot 3008 ahead of the September 2016 Paris Auto Show, where it is scheduled to have its world debut. For this year’s 3008, the French automaker decided to drop the minivan body style and embrace the SUV bandwagon. So, say a long and sad goodbye to the 3008 minivan because we will be seeing the last of its production run.
The second-generation 3008 looks like a better compact crossover SUV than most of the models we now see in the market. The exterior design in the spy shots appears to be based on Peugeot’s Quartz concept that was unveiled in 2014. On the other hand, its interior is probably derived from the same EMP2 platform used in the French auto’s 308 compact hatchback.
The interior is going to be upgraded as proven by the new spy shots revealed of the 3008. It will be getting a new digital instrument cluster in front of the new steering wheel, which is similar to the Peugeot 308.
The reason for the more elegant interior is Peugeot’s aim to be recognized apart from its rivals.
Reportedly, the new 3008 will have a couple of powertrain options. There’s a range of turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. In particular, the 2017 model will have the 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol that features in the 308 SW.
However, the new 3008 will not carry the diesel hybrid, which was recently dropped from the current 3008 range. What it would probably have is the petrol plug-in hybrid.
You can opt to pair these engines with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Combine these engines and transmission choices to either a front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, then you’ve got yourself quite a good crossover SUV.
Peugeot will start delivering the new 3008 in early 2017 in markets where the French brand is available.
Peugeot is looking to rival Ford Motor Company’s Kuga (sold as the Escape in the United States), the Nissan Qashqai, Renault Kadjar and Volkswagen Tiguan.
2017 Nissan Micra Is Almost Ready To Roll
Nissan is already on the testing phase for its fifth generation Micra, which should be due sometime next year. It might be under heavy camouflage and padding, but it should receive some dramatic design changes from the current model.
Sources are saying that the new Nissan Micra will be using the CMF B platform, which was developed within the Renault-Nissan alliance—also to be used on the next generation Nissan Juke. The new Micra will borrow some design cues from the Nissan Pulsar and the Nissan Sway concept that we saw at last year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Based on the spy shots, the new Micra will be longer and the rear hatch has a new shape with more angle on it than the current model. The headlights will probably be longer, too, and less bug-eyed than before. It extends further into the front grille, which looks smaller. The front fascia, front grille and fog lights will likely be changed too.
We will be expecting the body itself to be wider below the waistline. Some changes will be made on the side skirts too. Overall, the new Micra should have a sportier look than its predecessor.
Inside, not much was photographed. The current Micra already has a pretty upscale interior for an economy car, so Nissan might not change so much in this department. There should be the same basic design—functional—with the basic center console and majority of the controls placed on the center stack.
The new Micra should be offering a range of three- or four-cylinder gasoline engines. The current model has a 1.2-liter engine that manages 78 horsepower for the base option and 97 horsepower for the high-end unit.
Currently, the Micra starts out at £7,995 for the base model. It climbs all the way to £15,115 for the range-topping Tekna trim with a 1.2-liter and a CVT transmission. The new Micra should be priced somewhere between $11,499 and $21,739.
Spy Shots Of 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Emerge
The all-new 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio was photographed while on a road test around the Nürburgring.
The new SUV came at just the right time when Alfa Romeo promised to launch eight fresh models by 2018. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is expected to compete against the likes of 2017 Audi Q5, 2017 BMW X3, and 2015 Lexus NX.
The models will apparently offer a range of drivetrains from fuel-efficient gasoline and diesel versions to high-performance haulers.
Technically, Alfa Romeo has yet to launch a production SUV. But every time it does, the Kamal Concept presented at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show is being tapped.
But Alfa has a new design concept for the Stelvio, seen on both the 4C and the Giulia. Up front, we can see Alfa Romeo’s design language on the nose and the lower area of the fascia. Then, there is more padding on the sides while the roof slopes down a little to the rear.
Inside, there’s an expectation that the SUV will borrow the design features of the Giulia. The dashboard includes a center console, the instruments cluster, the center stack and the infotainment display.
It would also probably come with premium features such as leather upholstery, soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels, contrast stitching, and aluminum inserts. The high-end variant will most likely include carbon fiber trim.
Under the hood, there will be a range of gasoline and diesel engines. For the gasoline, the SUV will have a 2.0-liter, supercharged, four-cylinder that delivers 197 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque on an eight-speed, rear-wheel-drive transmission.
As for the diesel variant, you will get a 2.2-liter four-cylinder with two different configurations. One offers 177 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque while the other offers 148 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
There’s going to be a high end variant with a 2.9-liter, biturbo, V-6 engine.
Prices are not yet available for this SUV, but the entry level should start at $42,000 while the high end would cost $50,000.
Spy Shots Of 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 Leaked
Everyone thought that Porsche was testing a more extreme version of the latest 911 GT3 when spy photos of a new prototype resembling the car came out. However, the company clarified that it’s an early tease for the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2.
Andreas Preuninger, 911’s chief engineer, confirmed through a report that the 911 GT2 will be part of the 991-series 911 family. The company, in fact, already has mules out on the streets for the next generation car.
At the front, this car would most likely have a larger intake than those on the GT3 RS while at the rear, the hidden vents are on either side of the bumper, typically indicating a turbocharged engine. These cannot be found on the GT3 RS.
We can expect the GT2 to have the same engine as the 911 Turbo, albeit with more power. If it will have the latest Turbo S, which can now deliver 580 horsepower from the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six, then the GT2 could crank up to 620 hp.
The release of a GT2 would be late, in all honestly, so some are even expecting Porsche to just skip ahead to the GT2 RS. If the brand does this, it should be ready to power the GT2 RS with a capacity of 660 hp. The previous GT2 RS already had 620 hp, remember.
All of this power can be found on the rear wheels, and via a most likely seven-speed manual clutch transmission. Since the 911 models have four-wheel steering system, the GT2 will probably also come packed with this feature.
There were talks that the GT2 would officially come to the end of its production, especially because the Turbo models are offering better performance than previous GT2s. The rear-wheel-drive layout of the GT2 can also be a challenge for some people, but aren’t we glad Porsche didn’t give in to the temptation.
The GT2 will be released in 2018.
Spy Shots of the 2018 Buick Regal Surface
We finally got some spy shots of the prototype for the Buick‘s next generation Regal. It was spotted while being tested in the United States.
Based on the spy shots provided by Autoevolution, the 2018 Buick Regal will most probably be a bigger car than the previous edition.
The new Buick Regal is set to be in showrooms next year as a 2018 model. Like the current model, it will come with Opel’s Insignia. The same version will also be available in Australia and New Zealand as the next Holden Commodore.
Overall, the Buick Regal is expected to look like a downsized version of the 2017 Buick LaCrosse. Buick’s signature can clearly be seen on the waterfall grille, as well as the same winged badge on the current LaCrosse.
But what’s even more interesting is that the new Regal has a more conventional notchback body while the Opel features a fastback roof. Currently, the latest Regal and Insignia have an identical body.
Highlighting the Buick Royal’s performance is the General Motors Company’s E2XX platform, which was designed specifically for a front-wheel drive, mid-size models.
It can be recalled that the platform was launched in 2016 for the Chevrolet Malibu. A longer version, which was featured in the latest LaCrosse, promises even better performance. Key features of the platform included lightweight construction and better riding suspension.
The Buick Regal’s base option will most probably have a four-cylinder with turbocharging. The current model’s 2.4-liter four-cylinder base engine is still the expected one to be used in this new model.
The transmission will be an eight-speed automatic. The standard version will be a front-wheel drive while there will be an option of an all-wheel drive.
The new Insignia will debut at the 2016 Paris Auto Show in October while the new Regal should come shortly after at one of the major North American auto shows. But before the Regal arrives, we’ll be seeing a new Verano.
2017 Honda Civic Hatchback To Debut In Geneva Motor Show
Honda is expected to tease with previews of its 10th generation Civic hatchback during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month. Those curious to see what the hatchback would look like should seek no further since we got some photos when Honda tested it on the road.
Although it was covered in camouflage, there was no padding so the design cues were reflected. It basically retains 80 percent of the DNA from the 10th generation Honda Civic sedan, so you know what to expect from the fenders down to the rear doors.
The hatchback will be launched in the first quarter of 2017 in Europe, but since this is a “global car,” expect it to arrive soon enough in the United States and other parts of the world.
By looking at the Civic sedan, you’ll immediately have an idea of how the hatchback would look in front. It would have the same radiator grille, huge chrome louver, the Honda “H” in the middle, the updated headlights, fog lights, and less dramatic corner vents. As for the hood, it looks like the hatchback would have the same one as the Civic coupe and sedan.
If you’re a fan of the mild body line from the front wheels to the rear taillights, then you would love that too about the hatchback. The difference between the sedan and the hatchback can be seen after the rear doors since the hatchback sports a dual exhaust outlet near the fascia in the middle.
Inside, it would probably be similar to the sedan and the coupe. There would be a light-colored floating center console, touchscreen display, and digital instrument cluster. The front and the rear seats would mostly be the same, but the rear deck would be gone for more cargo space.
No prices have been announced for the hatchback, although the current one sells for $20,067in the UK. Pricing may increase a bit because of the new design and extra length.
Below are some spy shots of the upcoming Honda Civic hatchback, which were provided by AutoBlog:
